The Los Alamos Family Council has served the community for more than 60 years, incorporating in September 1962 and offering services beginning in January 1963. The mission of the Los Alamos Family Council today is to promote social and emotional well-being through education, prevention, and counseling.
To fulfill this mission, the Los Alamos Family Council offers two programs: the Counseling Center and the Youth Activity Centers. The Counseling Center provides behavioral and mental health services to members of our community of all ages. This includes mental health counseling, psychiatric services, and substance abuse treatment. The Youth Activity Centers provide free after-school and summer programming to students in grades 3rd through 8th. The Youth Activity Centers have served Los Alamos County since 1982.
